Philips Zoom!
Professional teeth whitening
Gentle tooth whitening is carried out under professional supervision according to the latest scientific standards in your orthodontic specialist dental practice in Hanover.
A radiant smile is the most beautiful makeup, and your well-groomed, white teeth are your personal calling card. Radiant white teeth are a status symbol and a positive eye-catcher, as well as a great finishing touch after orthodontic treatment.
Unfortunately, few people have naturally white teeth. Unpleasant discoloration can sometimes be genetic, but it's simply a natural part of aging. In many cases, it develops over time due to pigments from coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, various foods, and medications.
These deposited pigments not only darken the tooth surface, but also penetrate the enamel and discolor the teeth by altering their internal structure. For this reason, the discoloration persists even after a professional dental cleaning. A dental cleaning removes the surface deposits and discoloration and is therefore considered the first step in tooth whitening, but it cannot change the internal enamel structure.
This is where the Philips Zoom! bleaching method comes into play. The bleaching material contains hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide. The effect is enhanced by the blue LED light. The colored and light-absorbing pigments in the tooth substance oxidize, allowing light to pass through the tooth unhindered, making the teeth appear brighter. The tooth's stability and resilience are not altered. The dream of bright teeth can thus be realized in a very short time with a gentle whitening procedure at our orthodontic practice in Hannover Kirchrode.
Bleaching requirements
Both healthy gums and caries-free teeth are considered important prerequisites for teeth whitening. We recommend having a professional teeth cleaning one week before teeth whitening to remove plaque and allow the bleaching to work more evenly and effectively.
Composite fillings and ceramic prosthetics do not react to the bleaching material like your natural teeth. This means that these restorations may need to be replaced by a dentist after bleaching if they show a color difference from your whitened natural teeth.
Age restrictions
Although younger teeth respond more easily to bleaching, we recommend a bleaching procedure only from the age of 18, although there is no upper age limit.
Contraindications
These include pregnancy, breastfeeding, hypersensitive teeth, leaky fillings, caries, periodontitis.
Bleaching procedure
In our orthodontic practice, we offer the professional Philips ZOOM! teeth whitening system, which ensures consistent process, results, and service quality.
The professional bleaching result can be maintained for years through the additional use of the home bleaching method.
Side effects
According to current studies, professional teeth whitening is safe and no irreversible damage has been detected.
However, temporary tooth sensitivity or sudden pain in the front teeth area may occur, which usually subsides within 1-2 days.
